They, Them

They,Them

This grief, this loss, this pain of separation we feel

A pain felt so strong, we touched each other with emotional hands

When our eyes were first opened, coming into our presence

Eternal thoughts, manifested in a place where we can be all, we can be

We laughed and played on our playgrounds of life

Stayed up in our rooms all night long singing songs

They held us in loving arms when we needed a friend

Promised us, they'll be here to the very end

When we needed a shoulder to cry on, shed a tear or two

There on them, a caring one, we always knew

The fragile hands of time, have taken them away to sleep

As much as we weep, wishfully sorrow for and over them

They will not return to us, rather we will sleep as they, one day

We are reminded every night as we lay our heads upon our beds

Life is sweet, yet oh, so short, as the sleep we had

For a brief moment in time we had them to love

Like those who now have us to love

Coming out of sleep, we too, could've been taken

Yet left; given another chance, to help someone along the way, this day

All past, present, future, the failings that do easily beset us

A greater scrifice when placed, said, "It is finished"!

No need for pleadings of blood, or any other means

A greater redemption was paid when in a grave, One laid

There is room enough for all, when called

Who waited in hope to hear when recalled

Will courage embrace us to live this day with fond memories, as we pray

Like them, we will fall asleep to be awakened alongside, one day
