Once We Were Young

Once We Were Young

When the scent of the flowers bloomed as if just for us

The moon smiled on cool nights in reassuring looks of trust

A sun on a bright day made it just brighter as clouds fluttered away

It was for a time when dawns and sunsets highlighted another day

In our youthful pleasure, we loved each other and a world in leisure

With a love unlike any without limits and surely without measure

Everywhere we ventured to discover endless adventure was new

When the arms of youth gently embraced us, just us two

Time stood still for us who lived out our youthful folly

Joyfully we met each challenge with looks so jolly

Time will soon show us it's matching arms

Evidence of our brief stay not sparingly filled with charms

Those moments we shared when hearts were whittled

Surfaces gladly gave up spaces where we would nestled

In each other's arms, we found comfort as we embraced

To love each other with a love so true, that time can't erace
