The Right Temperature

The Right Temperature

Once there was a place I stayed

I freely played without a care

My coming here was much delayed

I loved it much, I held it dear

It was the perfect place for me

The neighborhood just right

Hearts beat in perfect harmony

No cares or tears in sight

Then one day beckoned I to come

To live a life that offered much

Where many are and not just one

So foreign to me as to my touch

This place will never be the same

Fleeting days arrest my weary mind

So different it is from where I came

It is for all who look my kind

I will sleep here wrapped in warmth

As prepared am I for that to come

Where I will know your dreadful taunts

Then escape in what's better to come

The warmth inside all bodies below

A common bond that ties us here

It's here within us wherever we go

As that place we all once shared

A salty mist is in the air and the verdant beauty of nature abounds everywhere. Learn more.
