I opened my eyes out of sleep
Another untried day is before me
Will I take it on boldly or listen
It tantalizingly speaks to me saying,
"You didn't choose this day
I chose you for it
Will you live this day like none before
Bodily changes equiped you for this and more
You will enter new frontiers, reach new horizons
Live the true meaning of your existence
Experience your purpose in His presence
Your being is no accident in this scene
This day begs you to live as no one else can
It reaches out, takes you by the hand
Clears your head as you get out of bed
Escaped the cold icy grip of death by sleep
No mean task accomplished, a soul not keep
This day, this gift all wrapped up
Untried, alluringly, begs to be released
Should I unwrap it, irisistently peek inside
So eager am I to look, emotions can't hide
Maybe if I place my ear, close enough to hear
Somethings in there, await to be manifest
A voice speaks beyond my senses, says I care
Wrapped up in this day are your tests
This day, another's gift, unlike mines
Awaits to be opened, to see what they'll find
They're chosen for it, to open, to live it
Thought in eternity manifested to reveal it
It finally dawn on me, this day
Before my conception, many days came
They went their purposeful way
None like the other, none the same
After this life, living each day, unlike this day
Those coming after, what will say?
Will they hear, will they know my name?
Be found in Him, Whose thought we came?
On this day, I'm grateful to open my eyes from sleep, my soul He forever keep
