When Night Falls

When Night Falls

Ushered into you, as an earth involuntarily rotates

I'm embraced in your arms, in all my estates

If I dare to trust and look long enough, I can still see much

While sight adjusts, to behold wondrous things, I care to touch

Yet, for now, cooler is the air, that is felt everywhere

As nasus engaged, the aroma of your blooms so rare

A welcome slumber that begs of me, is not far away

Fading memories, flood my mind of another passing day

Nocturnal creatures welcome this diurnal soul, they kindly share

Melodious songs of the night can be heard everywhere

Cooler, restful hands, and this chorus that greets me

Is music to my ear, amidst a parade of earthly company

While some settle in their nest, in the hope to be refreshed

Many activities abound for others as they blissfully rest

A world will know when kissed in the face by you

Bodies washed by prolonged hours of descending dew

Consciousness now laid aside, no longer dressed, or claim for all I do

Subconsciousness leisurely holds sway and gladly awaits all things new

As you linger on, a world feels colder by your frost

Much needed rest I got, no need to know how much was lost

You will come for all, as I, a welcomed guest

All that is unique to you, I'll know in sleep's much-needed rest

As restful sleep breaks for weeping that endures for a while

Creeping shadows once touched my eyes retreat to morn for a glorious smile
