Ode To Man

Ode To Man

This form I see carved in earth

At one with nature called dirt, now unearth

Patiently, silently, expectantly, waited

Will it be given its first breath, gently?

As all when given their first breath

No slap needed then, when we met

We were as seeds in our residence

Worlds anxiously awaited our presence

Built like no other, not called into being

All looked in wonder upon such a scene

Presented for more than just living, thriving

Exist for the ultimate joy of worshiping

See him in his splendor, untouched, in prime

A one of a kind, now to embrace time

Fashioned after an image, designed in likeness

Eternity at hand, clothed in its brigtness

Evidences of life now felt from within

As seen in the ruddy color of supple skin

Blood will course through opened veins

Organs, affections, emotions with zest, excitedly reins

Eyes now fidgety opened, looked up

Saw visions of worlds beyond, they gladly stood up

Colors beyond the spectrum helplessly bear

Saw beauty effortlessly presented, just needing his care

All willingly shouted glad tidings of approval

With joy, they greeted, this crowning arrival

Heard with perfection in lives all around

A melodious refrain as they sang their songs

As he wiggled his toes, touched his nose

Fingers spread out into view, could even close

Touched his face, then grasped his head

Silently repeated this, nothing much said

Hearing a sound coming from his chest

Felt something beating as he gently pressed

He knew he could think as thoughts were given

They flooded a mind, a heart obediently driven

Stood up in splendor, a frame to dwarf giants

Wind in his face, helplessly tried to catch its direction

A river flowing by, looking in, showed his reflection

First time he saw himself, with frantic elation

He didn't come out of the river as many would say

Too noble a bearing, he lonely bore on that day

For all that was good, to be alone was not

Lying on his side, will his bride come forth?

Bathed in mist, everywhere expressions of delight

Joys in the daylight, restful sleep came at night

Would daily experience, only one thing for sure

Joyously worshipped his Creator, from a heart so pure

So it was, when time wrapped its arms around one

So loved, admired by all, from whom generations would come

Standing tall on the earth from whence he was taken

Gloried not in self with senses never to forsaken

He was at his best when the Light of lights shone

Ushered into A Presence on holy ground, all now one

Where holy communion and fellowship met

Joy abounded in contentment without any regret

A time when in the Presence of One, all sang for joy

Yet for all that we had, choice given not to annoy

We chose a path expressly forbidden

Fell from a high and lofty state, bodies sinfully ridden

A promise made in hope that all be forgiven

From his place of birth, now would be driven

See how love shone on the path we now would trod

Amidst much grief, sorrow, pain and death, clothed in blood

Eternity within our grasp, we reached out

Took hold of doubt, questioned what we were, all about

Still, our search continue, in vain for what we had

At a time when in one, him was all we had
