Twilight smiles as it says goodbye to this day
Opening its arms to willingly greet the night
This day is coming to an end as the sun sets
Refracted light, scatters across the horizon
It's golden ray soon gives way to another beauty
The one that comes when lovers by a fire
While in a close intimate embrace look up in desire
Seeing the moon whose light comes not of her own
A reflection shown, telling all that the night is just as beautiful
As supple skin, faces gently kissed by her light
Soon night watchers will show this to us as voices are heard
There is much nocturnal activity if one cares to peer through the night
There is light even in the dark, those are the songs we hear
They come from watchers of the night, who soon take flight
Those thrown into prisons who while there were still free to sing
The night still has light for those willing enough to see it
Night will come for all just as the day wends it's way
Will we add light in the dark, with joy in our hearts
Still lift our voices as the darkness of night waits to hear
A certain song of praise, rising up so loud, caused others to cheer
See the chains of all that keep us bound willingly fall off
