Woman

Asleep, my conscious gone, subconscious here

So unaware of what I needed; who I truly needed

All eyes opened wide at my nocturnal sojourn

Looked on at me as sorried tears fell, wishing they could do more, but can't

Helplessly I sleep, waiting for what will emerge

I'm awake and here is another lying by my side

Some discomfort, can't hide, close to my heart

Felt some soreness, yet all closed up

Feels so much better, than it was at the start

Your body and mine a onesness bottom to top

Given someone I've been waiting for

To love and to cherish like never before

This joy that I live, touching another part of me

Cause that's what you are, I'm alive, yet free

Free to love you where you want it most

A touch from you, sure feels like my first

I'm at my best when we're close; we're one, never to part

Your presence, everything that's you, brings joy to my heart

So precious you were, at a time not so far

When we walked, talked, lived in our nakedness

Explored our innocence, consumated it

Nothing we hid, all was common, all was pure

Only you my dearest I knew to adore

All rejoiced at the choice to have you here

Moments with you I dared not share

Yet for all we had, we both blew it

Unlike what others may say, no curse you caused to come my way

For I was the one who in my knowledge, my fear of loosing you

Disobeyed for love, not trusting Another to come through

There could've been another way, some other day

Though things have changed, not our love

You have been blamed, caused our shame

To be covered up, to wait on, be brutalized

No justice realized, totally victimized

Not show the beauty of the skin you're in

Nor let down your hair, that once blew in the air

What's there about you that I now so fear

To bound your feet, cut your flesh, sew you up

Dare I to forget, my love, my heart, my side

Dare to protect you a part of me, my bride

Not be cloistered, hiding that beauty, that nature once willingly explored

Whether the shape you're in, silk of your skin

Beauty you wear, texture of your hair

I want you here again, lying next to me

Your body next to mine, truly divine

Just as we were, once upon a time in a land

Amidst all that was pure in the sunshine

When I was yours and you were mine

We loved, laughed and played

Didn't care for time of years, weeks or days

We cried much tears when fate confronted us

Yet I'll tell you my love, you're the best of me

Caused you're from me, you're me

We are one and the same

You're mine for the rest of time

I'll always wait for you to come by my way

I'll always look for you each and every day
