The Rain

The Rain

A thirsty world will always need you

A treasured presence as the dew

How dare we survive without you

A lack of you what will we do

Nature opens her mouth in gladness

In wanton abandonment, she smiles

As soaked by you, in a stream flowing by

Dripping from every leaf, no tears of sadness

You are welcomed everywhere

A thirst quencher in this biosphere

From clouds that break anxiously glad

Towards an earth now no more sad

Now that you are here, what joy

Kids run and play in you with joy

By you we enter this earth our place

On sundry occasions, you touched our face

We live a life knowing, if not touched by you

All life will fail, not just a few

Our roots need you as they spread out

Soaking every drop of what you're about

Pour on us in torrential showers

As nature sings and so does its flowers

The issues of life are many we know

After you come, there's a rainbow
