Imagination

Imagination

You came to me when at play on a day, far away

When in the flower of my youth, where all was fresh

A world where I could think and say, even touch the sun's ray

Only to find they were all in my mind, needing only to be refreshed

A gift as this to explore my thoughts to see what I would find

Entered a world I called my own where I happily wanted to be

Where all I survey and claim would certainly be mine

Then when looking down at me, smiles in reassurance that I'm free

A most adoring thing confronts me when in my humanity

The spark of life most present ignites the fire to dream

I share this as others like me who only ask that their lives be free

That dreams be fired up, a spark of life in every stream

Encouraged to know that there is more to this

More to what I see, than all I can ever hope to touch

As what's here in me, resident as my consciousness

It's all I need for what will come to change a world by my touch

I was born for more than this, where as fodder I'm treated as dispensable

I'm aware that I'm here, an idea brought into being

Given choice to fulfill life's purpose for my coming as indispensable

Naked I came, nothing I'll take when in time I leave this scene
