If

If

I could love you, the way you want me to

Would it be good for one, not us two?

I would hold your hand and call you mine

Could you rest your will here, no repine?

I would spend my days dreaming only of you

Can I kiss your lips, so wet, as morning dew?

I can't hold you in my arms so you feel my warmth

I anxiously wait for you to touch my heart

My love for you can't be just talked about

Would we feel this intensely though apart?

It's time for me to share, to show you I care

That my heart yearns, it beats aloud for you to hear

When there's one beat left, it will be only for you

What is more precious in life for me to do

But for this heart amongst many to love only you

I could love you, the way you want me to

Time will prove a love so strong is all for you

A love that's pure, selfless, true

I'm allowed to show you I care

A love like this with such abandonment to show

It's yours only, never to share

This love is forever, my love, that I know

More than just a hold of my hand, call you mine

I'll want only you for the rest of my life

For the rest of time
