And Then, You

And Then, You

When the world was young, the genesis of all

I who once slept, would awake to much joy

When to your radiant smile, so much I can recall

I care not for another, my heart to employ

I awaited you, oh my fairest one, in all your charm

As everything about you conquered my loneliness

At my side, you turned, looked at me, all was calm

I knew then you were the one, my joy, my delightsomeness

When we touched, we knew the oneness we felt

Our hearts melted for each other in passionate belonging

As you birthed me, so have I you, in perfect health

When the air drew near to welcome your splendid coming

My best was saved for last, intuition flowed free

Your form I felt, before it happily, willingly, expressed its function

Your breath as wind passing by, excited me to exalted glee

I looked on in awe of you, everywhere in every direction

Always ahead, a force in vain to contain as seen everywhere

Your postion not limited to a location, defy space and time

I have come to know this much in my state of bewilderment

My finiteness bears evidence to this for a lifetime

Seasons changed, so would my strength, unlike yours

While I'm seduced by the physical, yours come from emotional

A place where waters cover the deep, a land that's now ours

A world served well, acknowledged, by your presence in all
