Sunset

Sunset

If you don't rise, how will we be at the end of the day

It's what makes a day complete when our colors change

We know your presence ushers in time

As you splash your colors across the horizon for lovers to imagine

When you rise for some, you will be at the end of the day for others

You are always there beckoning us who are here

Enveloped by your presence, we live so as not to escape

You determine our days, as we look back to when we rose

And yet you were the same, we just saw how you look at different times

Following your example, we do look different with time

And now with the wind in our faces, you in our view

We remember when we were young, and smile at our follies

You rose, a joyous welcome is heard in the songs of the rooster

All present take note of your healing presence

Like you, we were high in our skies as a world looked on in wonder, admiration

At the end of our days, looking back as our rays descend, only to rise for others

A world awaking with you, at twilight, settling under covers of light

Her skin soothed at morn, warmth at noon, silhouette at night

Cries are heard amidst your setting, by all things known and dear

Intently, breathlessly, look for familial colors, welcome another order to appear
