Choice

Choice

Given the choice to awake out of sleep

Just prayed to the Lord my soul to keep

Will I gladly answer yes, maybe no, not yet

Where I lay my head, I'm pretty much set

My life flashes before me, got much regrets

Now I'm awake, I can stay in bed

Perhaps pull the covers over my head

Maybe say to myself, "I'll stay here instead"

Or step out, say a prayer, then dress my bed

An unseen hand has touch my mouth

Said it's time, to set me about

To set about the task I have for you

My work in this life only I can do

I can add color, meaning to another's life

Lift up some soul, amidst their strife

Bring joy and warmth where life is cold

By a word of encouragement rightly told

Such gift given to me and all ever lived

Touching lives, while caressing the world

As only I could, you would, if we love, be bold

I am choosen to make this life what it becomes

Each picture of my day, a masterpiece to paint

To live with care, on canvass, better not faint

I had no say, in seeing this one, just responded

My body saying, welcome, I got what it takes

This life with its uncertainties, chaos, tragedies, death

Still one with joys, cheers, excitement, love

My day, my life, I've been beckoned to see unlike many

Says, there is much for me to do

To live out my purpose, my mission, my destiny
