What Is Man?

What Is Man?

Such a lonesome creature

In a sea of humanity

All came from the dust

When we opened our eyes

The first face we saw

Others say we came about

Previously having fins and scale

We swam, crawled, stood up

Such a helpless creature

Totally dependent in the sea of the world

All was made to meet our need

Would we look at it all, take heed

Care was put into it all

Even into this body prior to the fall

A voice calls out, will we heed the call?

Such a hopeless creature

For love, love that will risk it all

But for love we'll be most miserable

All that we have, own, we will leave behind

Our short stay here teaches, how fragile we are

Yet amidst a thousand worlds

Innumerable constellations, galaxies

A love that made them all reaches, yearns

Such a loved creature

Love that knows no limit, no depth, no height

Given to show man that nothing else matters

When it comes to loving him

At a loss, the question came for one so loved

What's about man that as the flowers he fades

Yet so precious in His sight is our death
