This Fall

This Fall

Your colors slowly come to tempt me

As if to say just not see, but gently touch

Your beauty now in full display, invites me to play

A masterpiece your backdrop, not like the other day

I'm mesmerized by all you bring as I joyful sing

To hear the crunch of leaves underfoot, amidst colors you bring

A mattress here you prepare all for me that I love

As I lay me down amidst these cooler days, see the moon way up above

The kid in me always comes to play, when you pass my way

All around, as leaves come down, I listen to what you say

With this much to view I'll bring a friend or two

You never disappoint each time you pass, as all my dreams come thru

Soon you'll leave, wave good by again, in empty branches that remain

As stems and twigs now naked, wait to be clothed again

This picture you paint that includes me this fall

I'll proudly share this joy I know here, with one and all
