I could be anywhere, elsewhere
But I'm still here
Many are over there
They once lived here
Amongst us bright and fair
Breathing, God's good air
They once were here on this earth that we share
Now I wish they were here
But they are not
They once touched a flower
Wondered at its beauty, lived every hour
They were here, there and every where
Living, hugging, kissing, loving, playing with us
They once called us, texted us, whispered to us
I love you
I am here, before I knew me, they knew
I was protected, loved, nurtured, fed
To be, to see the beauty that is life
To know as I grow the order and steps that I may go
The choices to be made
Learning from each, some to forbade
I'm a here and like them I could be elsewhere
While some by choice chosed to go
I am still here, coming out of death
For everytime I lay my head and awake out of bed
I am called out like Lazarus by Him
Who said I go to awake him who sleepeth
They are no longer touching this body that is mine
But still here in me as I breath, live and love
As each passing day my memories so real
As to touch, to hold, to know, that we are never truly apart
While you who were here wait over there
While you wait to hear the voice
Waiting for your change to come
To be given your other existence, reason
To be given true beauty for ashes and dust
A mind unlike any other to reason for eternity
A body that will never grow old
As we've been told
As you wait for what's to come
Which no mind can reason, eyes seen, ears heard
Even entered into our hearts
Until time marries eternity
You'll always be here in my heart.
