Peace

Peace

May I look to the One Who offered me

As only He can give, not as the world gives

It's that which comes from knowing

The center of my joy, the yoke I now wear

I carry it with me, yet not alone, he's here

He's always been, even when I left His side

The vine that calls me to remain, to abide

A cross He bore, mine I'll gladly bear

In my life, much came with outstretch arms

Offered many a thing, but the one thing

That passes all human understanding

To accept His plan, no need be alarmed

All my life, my prince has been this to me

Sanity has turned to serenity when I trust

When to accept what is not reasonable

It is then to let go and know, He is able

When led by you in darkest of moments

Always be reminded, I'm not that alone

All that are just, know their path to home

Its twists and turns are all too frequent

A solitary figure nightly-walks on my waves

Out of my midnights strength fails to will

Though boisterous they be, a power to save

Assuredly, tenderly speaks, 'Peace be still'
