A Little Dove

A Little Dove

Alas one fine day a dove flew my way

It perched on a branch at my window's ledge

At a glance it looked right at me

Yeah, right through me as if to say

With such beautiful eyes of love

This moment in time was truly mine

I thought of all like me and you

Who have lived, loved and hoped

For a better view on this marble of blue

Will we ever meet, will we ever greet

As we've occupied a slice of time

Here on this ball of blue

Yet we all are connected by a God who cares

I will never live this life, this way again

I will want my life lived here to impact others by the love I share, my friend

Then no sooner that it came my way that day

Looked at me that way as if to say,

That the little dove flew away.
