Would we allow ourselves to see
The essence of our humanity, lies in our diversity
Our pigment, distinct faces, hair textures, body contours
Nature bears evidences to this, in forms, functions, a variety of flavors
Organically beautiful, seamless, bring smiles to a delightful sun
A moon looks down in calm assurance, says, "you're alright!".
Accepted, loved, cared for by a planet willingly giving
Would that we be such to ourselves, who ask for nothing else
Earth houses us, how boring a place without topography, earthly difference
Her twists and turns, expressed unevenness, gives meaning and joy
Would that we touch, feel her sensation that comes from being
Everything of substance, matter, must realize its reason for being
A world awaits all to be as one, for at our core all are really one
Where love reigns supreme, as joy and peace are lived out
Unafraid to cherish our differences, in a place asking to be release
A classroom of life, where looking around we see value in each other
Moments everywhere, when men live out our variety to the fullest
Desire so willingly as to hold on, treasure it, nurture it
While all around begs us to look, listen, testify, and hopefully see
That nothing's more precious to this realm as the presence of you and me
