The Year Before Us

The Year Before Us

You beckon me to enter

If I were to wonder what's next

You remind me, the past one is gone

The one I lived is now history

While filled with stories, all is just a memory

I got this one before me

Now what will I do

What will you do with me

I'm about to reach out and embrace you

You will be part of me and I you

Just wait and see, all that will be

All we can do, you and me

You can reach over with your toes

Try to know our future, no one knows

Lean over a bit to have a look

Even more just enough to stare

Wondering what's over there

Many wanted just like you to have a faint view

They're not here quite like you

Why hesitate, equivocate with what's ahead

It's waiting, beckoning to take it on

To become a better you than twenty two

This one could be your best lived ever

With beauty yet unfold, stories yet untold

Realities to attain, lives to be touch again, again

A world's waiting, crying just for you

To make, leave your mark that no one can

Seasons will change, the air will flow

Rain will fall and the skies will glow

The beauty of the sun in a clear blue sky

Clouds look on you as they flutter by

This ball will still turn on it's axis just for you

God made it all that's what He'll do

So go, not in resolution be open to your destiny

One you can forge by the life you will live

A presence only you will give

The very best in you is yet to come
