For all we were in our coming forth
We knew not the moment of our conception
This life given involuntarily, when having no part
No decision was ours, in such an affair at the start
These treasured earthen vessels loaned to us
Each unique in form, yet alike in function
Inhale and exhale so commonly abound
We are no good alone without a neighbor
Occupying one life, with a few days to spare
Naked we came, life's brevity, a reality awaits us
Involuntarily, we are momentarily preparing for it
Born into it, our earthly destination is sure
When gone, will monuments plastered, stand out to show our names
Echo our praises, show a life lived a few short days
Memoriam given, grieving hearts left us alone to a spot, we now call home
What will a world say, when it's left without us
So common is the fleeting moments of our existence
A wilderness of fragility, duplicity, hypocracy, simplicity
Our attainment while possessing, cannot be touched, yet felt
Such gifts given to us, only find their truest meaning when we cry out for our help
