I'm Grateful

I'm Grateful

To see the beauty of today

Of this day, this moment in time

Given to live my most sublime

To see every little flower that blooms

Every dawn of a new day, a sunset not so far away

I'm so close, I can touch it for it envelopes me

While here in time to stay, I am free

Be Serenaded by nature's orchestral sounds

Sounds of leaves, welcoming the breeze

Sounds I hear over yonder, every where

It fills the air, as creatures lifts their voice

Giving thanks for life without a care

Such a tapestry so vibrant with life

A masterpiece real as the air I breath

I'm part of it, formed and made for it

To treasure the little things of life

None insigficant, bringing meaning overall

As birds joyously sing their songs all day long

Hearing a brook or stream meanders along

The comfort they bring, so relaxing a thing

Such a harmonious whole, brings joy to my soul

In the changing of the seasons beauty is seen

They beg for my attention just to be keen

To make every day the one best lived

As if no tomorrow ever comes

I've lived my best day, well done

To not know what tomorrow holds

Yet to appreciate the odyssey of the unknown

Living in the already and the not yet

If I were shown, I will see a sooner death

This journey of life, while filled with tragedy

For my good not much is revealed

But to brighten my day along the way

Even by a word I may say

For a mind that can reason the wonder of it all

The skies above contains treasures untold

This earth beneath with much to unfold

Sharing a face among a myriad in this place

A life I didn't ask for, yet to be

To live a purpose once asked of me

Just live it more today than the day before

While the odyssey of life is filled with tragedies

A voice cries out never take for granted

The artistry of which we're apart, the canvass of life

Look at nature's picture see how I fit

In scenes constantly changing, birth, dying, death

This body which I know little off when wrecks with pain

I have a hope time and again

And for this I'm eternally grateful
