America The Beautiful

America The Beautiful

I came up from the land, unlike many from the sea

Dare you to envision a land of promise, a flowing beauty, quite vast

Beckoned all you, tired, worn, humbled, hopeful masses, come and see

Invited your simplest of questions, my shadows on many I'll cast

In all your persecutions, travails, woes, I painfully asked you come

I'll give you hope for which you long, a place to belong, to live as one

Under God, the truths we hold dear, can transform all who dare to come

Out of many, endless possibilities, for all to live as one

The flower of our coming, will blossom aromatically, a vast variety

A force for change like no other, can still become a beacon on a hill

Blended into this mosaic, fine tapestry, unique experiment, a laboratory

A world looks on expectantly, at what a nation can become, when exercise their will

With all this charm, along comes you; I aspire to stand true

Our strength come from all who came from places all too many

As colors span a thousand plains, canyons, parks, now every hue

This land we now call home, may justice rain down for any

This union, yet imperfect, faltering, extends outstretch welcoming arms

May courage come to break us free, to live in one accord

Ever mindful of all that holds us, from achieving nobility that alarms

Be faithful, be brave, who declared to promised, " one nation under God"

A salty mist is in the air and the verdant beauty of nature abounds everywhere. Learn more.
