Pain To Purpose

Pain To Purpose

The last time I saw your face

The look of your eyes on me

You lived a life with such grace

Taught me courage and dignity

Your eyes saw through my form

I could tell, you saw much more

To see more than my every norm

Held my hand as of times before

When your voice I barely heard

Sweet whispers they were to me

Need to hear you, just one word

Say your thoughts to me

When you closed your eyes in sleep

Were you thinking of me not there

To hold your hand, gently weep

To tell you, I'll always care

To know you, then to let you go

Is the hardest thing I'll ever do

I'll carry you forever that I know

My tribute I'll daily renew
